Sri Lankan team defeat Bangladesh by six wickets in the third one-dayer to complete a 3-0 rout at the Sher-e-Bangla stadium on Saturday.

Chasing 241 runs to win, Sri Lanka riding on the back of a fine hundred from  Kusal Perera finished the chase inside 48-overs.

The other major contributor for Sri Lanka in this chase was Dinesh Chandimal, who with a fine 64 runs took Sri Lanka on the brink, as Angelo Mathews and Ashan Priyanjan completed the formalitites with 2o and 22 respectively.

For Bangaldesh, Sohag Gazi and Mahmudullah picked up two wickets each.

Earlier, with the help of seamer Dhammika Prasad, who was the pick of the bowler for Sri Lanka with three wickets, limited Bangladesh to 240/8 after winning the toss and elected to bowl first.

Suranga Lakmal, Dhammika Prasad’s new-ball partner, returned with 2/24 in 10 overs.

For Bagladesh, Mominul Haque was the top-scorer with vital 60-runs, while Nasir Hossain (38), Naeem Islam (32) and skipper Mushfiqur Rahim (30) were the other contributors as the hosts posted highest score in the series.

Sri Lanka made as many as three changes by replacing their three veteran players Mahela Jayawardene, Kumar Sangakkara and Tillakratne Dilshan by bringing in Lahiru Thirimanne, Dhammika Prasad, and Angelo Perera.

Mahela Jayawardene and Dilshan were out due to injuries, while Sangakkara was given a much needed rest ahead of the Asia Cup which begins in Bangladesh on February 25, Tuesday.

On the other hand, Bangladesh replaced their best all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan, who was banned for three-matches for a vulgar gesture on-camera during the second ODI, with Naeem Islam.

Sri Lanka had won the previous Test and Twenty20 series. Now with this win Bangladesh remain winless on this tour.
