The young Bangladesh pacer Mustafizur Rahman has been named in the Test squad for the two Test matches against Sri Lanka. He was in contention to play in the historic Test match against India earlier this month but was not named in the squad as he was not 100% fit to play Test cricket.
The lanky bowler played first-class games for South Zone and proved his fitness to be selected in the Test squad for the upcoming series.
Along with him, Rubel Hossain, who also played first-class games for the South Zone with Mustafizur has made a comeback to the Test squad for the series.
The team will miss the services of Imrul Kayes, who travelled to India for the historic Test but returned back home after the batsman was not fit to participate in the game. Mosaddek Hossain has retained his place in the team.
The first Test between Bangladesh and Sri Lanka will kick off from March 7 in Galle. The second Test of the series, which will also be the 100th Test match for Bangladesh will be played in Colombo from March 15. A three-match ODI and two-match T20I series will follow Test series.
