Sri Lanka vs England 2018: Akila Dananjaya to Miss the Third Test
Akila Dananjaya, the off-spinner from Sri Lanka, will miss the third and the final Test against England in the three-match Test series starting from November 23 (Friday).
Meanwhile, England have already sealed the series with their 57-run win over the hosts at Pallekale. Jack Leach was the star of the show bagging eight wickets in the match to send Sri Lanka packing. Joe Root played a crucial knock in the second essay as England posted a massive target.
Akila Dananjaya has to undergo an official bowling action assessment in Brisbane. Meanwhile, his bowling actions came under the scanner during the opening Tests at Galle.
Dananjaya consequently played the second Test and also registered his career-best figures of 6 for 115 in England’s second innings.
“Unfortunately he’s not available, because he has to go and do the testing within 14 days. He’s going to Brisbane on the 20th or something, to do the test on the 23rd, so he’s not available,” Sri Lanka head coach Chandika Hathurusingha told media.
