Chris Woakes, Ben Foakes, and Ben Stokes is the most rhyming line-up one can ever get in cricket folklore. Former Indian gun opener Virender Sehwag is keen to see all these England all-rounders play in the playing XI. However, it wasn’t the case as England decided to bench their seam bowling all-rounder Chris Woakes.
Meanwhile, England has already bagged the ongoing Test series against Sri Lanka as they have taken an impregnable lead of 2-0. England skipper Joe Root won the toss for the eighth consecutive time and the tourists are currently batting at 116 for the loss of two wickets.

Jonny Bairstow who made a comeback in the ongoing Test has completed his fifty. Meanwhile, Ben Foakes had made a fine debut in the Test arena. The wicketkeeper-batsman had scored a hundred on his maiden appearance and was also awarded the Man of the match.
On the other hand, English skipper Joe Root was the star of the show in the second Test match. Root scored a fine hundred in the second innings to take England’starget to a respectable score.
Ben Foakes has scored 228 runs in the running series whereas Joe Root has scored 211 runs. However, Ben Stokes hasn’t had a merry time with the bat as he has amassed only 88 runs.

England had also gone on to win the ODI series by 3-1 and also the won the one-off T20I against Sri Lanka. Therefore, it has been a successful tour for visitors.
Virender Sehwag took to Twitter to share his thoughts on rhyming three player’s name in England squad. The post read as, “If England had picked Woakes, would have been nice to see Stokes, Foakes, Woakes. Looking forward to the day when these 3 play together”.
