The southpaw in late 2014 was dropped from the side for KL Rahul, who did well Down Under. However, an end minute illness to Rahul meant an opening for Dhawan and the southpaw made the most out of it by scoring two back to back tons, in Bangladesh and Sri Lanka. Just when he found his feet back in the format, a vicious delivery fractured his finger and put his career hanging with clouds of uncertainty again. Life it seems has come a full circle for Dhawan as once again an injury to the first choice opener has led for an opening. This time, however, the southpaw should make the most of his form and seal his spot at the top. Given his talent, he well has the capability to do that.
