Captain Cool Mahendra Singh Dhoni reached a huge milestone by appearing in his 300th ODI on Thursday against Sri Lanka in the 4th ODI at the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo. Dhoni has been stalwart in the limited-overs games his record as a batsman, and a wicketkeeper is just phenomenal in the coloured jersey.
He was also the captain of Chennai Super Kings in the Indian Premier League, and under him, the franchise had won two IPL and two Champions League title. The Chennai Super Kings through their official twitter account first congratulated the legend on playing his 300th ODI and then made various tweets on him as the game progressed.
Dhoni came out to bat at the fall of the 5th wicket of Lokesh Rahul and played himself in before unleashing some big shots. As the innings ended Dhoni remain stranded on 49 of 42 deliveries, an innings which contained five fours and a solitary six. He batted pretty well, and the six of Lasith Malinga prompted the CSK to praise him.
Dhoni besides playing some of the big shots also executed some fine leg paddles to perfection which was a treat to the eyes. CSK wrote,
“Helicopter shot may be his most loved shot. But his unique fine leg paddles are a treat to the eyes.”

Meanwhile, it was Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma’s brilliant centuries which ensured India reached a commanding score of 375/5 in their allotted 50 overs. When the duo of Rohit and Kohli was batting it looked India would comfortably go beyond the 400 mark, but their dismissals at regular intervals pegged the visitors a bit as the next few batsmen took time in settling in.
Manish Pandey and MS Dhoni shared a century partnership for the 6th wicket after India lost wickets in the middle overs in a heap. Unless something dramatic happens, India is all set to take a 4-0 lead in the five-match series today.
Something changes every time he's at the crease in the last few overs. ADRENALINE!#Brutal #MSD300
