India wins the toss and elected to bowl first at RPS, Colombo.

Upul Tharanga is back in the team after serving a two match ban for slow over rate and will lead the Sri Lankan side in the One off T20 match.

India won the ODI and the Test series convincingly whitewashing the hosts in both the format. India won the Test series 3-0 and ODI series 5-0. A win in the T20 match would mean that India will have a 9-0 record on this tour. Only Australia have n equal the record of 9-0 against Pakistan in 2010.

For Sri Lanka T20 has been the most successful format in 2017 beating Australia, South Africa and Bangladesh. They would like to keep this run in T20’s going and save some pride after losing in Tests and ODI’s.

Here are the quotes from both the captains:

Kohli:

“We are going to bowl first. Advantage batting second here. We played good cricket. We wanted to create good habits and continue with the same. From the last game, Rahane and Shardul Thakur miss out. KL Rahul and Axar come in.”

Tharanga:

“Looks a bit damp. It is a very important game for us. It’s a great challenge for the team. It is the final game and want to finish on a winning note. We have got a few changes. Dasun Shanka, Isuru Udana, Thisara Perera and Seekugge Prasanna come in.”
