Skipper Virat Kohli in his presser ahead of the second Test of the three match series of Seagram’s Royal Stag Mega Cricket Cup against Sri Lanka revealed he has already framed a combination in the mind which is subjected to the execution before the toss time on Thursday (August 1) at Sinhalese Cricket Club (SCC) in Colombo.
“According to the wicket, we already have a [team] combination in mind,” Kohli told in his press conference.
Kohli reiterated the management will take a call to field Playing XI after a thorough assessment of the pitch and the combination would be announced in the best of the team.
“We’ll look at the wicket in the morning and if it changes we’ll make a call in the morning,” added Kohli.
The 28-year-old batsman Kohli has played a significant role with the bat and as a skipper in the recent past while yielding the desired results added the Colombo wicket has always been a good wicket for the longer format.
“Last time around we thought it was a great wicket for Test cricket. And Batsmen had to apply themselves to get runs bowlers had got in the game throughout,” Kohli said.

Kohli, who has been at the forefront to take India to the top position in the ICC Test rankings, as he registered his 10th century in a long format which further saw the visitors leading the series 1-0.
“So, it is a wicket that you’ll get a result on for sure,” Kohli asserted.

The visitors would be aiming to clinch the series after producing the all-round show in the Galle Test, as Kohli is delighted to marshal his troops on a wicket which he hinted as a favourite venue.
“So that excites us and something to look forward to as a team and this is a kind of wicket that we always like to play on,” Kohli remarked.
It’s pertinent to mention that India has clinched a Test series 2-1 under the leadership of Kohli in 2015.
“We have a chance to make an impact in the game throughout,” Kohli further added.
While expressing the satisfaction over the performance of the teammates, Kohli wished to give his best in the remainder of the Test series after the visitors sweated it out in nets.
“We really enjoyed playing cricket last time around,” Kohli concluded.
The Delhi-born batsman Kohli, who has become a household name, has featured in 58 Tests for India in which he scored 4,603 runs at an average of 50.03. He has smashed 17 hundreds and 14 half-centuries.
