Sri Lanka Vs India 2017: Team India Players Surprised As Girls Serve Drinks On Field

The recently-concluded One-Day International series between India and Sri Lanka had very little to get the fans excited. The Islanders were thrashed 3-0 in the Test series and proved no match for the Men in Blue in the 50-over format too, losing the series 5-0.
Barring a couple of middle-order collapses of the visitors in a couple of games, the uneven contest between the two teams continued throughout the series which concluded on Sunday (September 4) when Virat Kohli’s sublime century guided the visitors to a historic whitewash.
And with the team plunging to a new low with every passing game, it seemed the cricket officials in Sri Lanka cricket tried their best to keep the fans interested on the field and perhaps that was the reason when an unusual sight was witnessed during the fourth One-Day International last week. The incident happened when the drink break was taken while the Men in Blue were defending a formidable total of 375. As expected, the Indian players who were not playing in the match – Yuzvendra Chahal and Bhuvneshwar Kumar ran in with the bottles. However, the two players wee accompanied by two girls, much to the surprise of Indian players.
The break soon ended and so was the match as Virat Kohli & Co. bowled the hosts out for a paltry 207 to win the match by 168 runs.
Well, this is not the first time that women have served drinks on the cricket field. Way back in 1938, some women had served tea to the players during a Test at Headingley between England and Australia.
Meanwhile, India will be looking to end the full-fledged series on a high by winning the one-off T20I on Wednesday (September 4). The visitors have won every game they have played on this tour so far and will enter the T20I as the firm favourites.
