If it isn’t Shikhar Dhawan, then its time for a Virat Kohli show. If it isn’t even Kohli, then it’s definitely time for a Rohit Sharma special. That is what exactly happened in the third ODI at Kandy, as the elegant opener brought up the 12th century of his ODI career, to successfully seal the series for India in another low scoring game.
Sharma was flawless in the chase as he set off by playing an array of eye catching strokes. Focusing more towards timing the ball to perfection, Sharma breezed his way to a century without too much fuss, and in his path, forged a fine stand with MS Dhoni.
The chase though, was far from an easy one and had its own ups and downs for the men in blue. Shikhar Dhawan and Virat Kohli fell early and it was an ideal opportunity for KL Rahul to make a mark. However, despite working hard and getting a start, Rahul threw it all away by playing a terrible shot and getting caught.
Kedar Jadhav followed suit as he was trapped sweeping, plumb in front. MS Dhoni though carried on his good work from the previous ODI and played an ideal support to Sharma. With India wrapping up the series, fans on Twitter were ecstatic, and below are some of the tweets.
The crowd however, was far from being satisfied as with just 8 runs away, bottles were thrown on the ground. That was a disgraceful sight to say the least as the spirit of cricket was shattered.
Making India switch off from watching a cricket match while we are batting, what a joy to watch #Sindhu in full flow .Come on India !

Ok, so there are silly people everywhere. But we need to get a move on. Security just watching people throw bottles. Doing nothing.

Can't claim to have watched it but a 100 out of team's 160 has to be a top effort. But must've made batting look effortless. Rohit Sharma. ?
