Sri Lanka Vs India 2017: Twitter Reacts As Visitors Restrict Hosts To Modest Total

Riding on Yuzvendra Chahal’s 3-wicket haul and Kuldeep Yadav’s economical bowling, India recovered from a poor start with the ball to restrict Sri Lanka to 170/7, which is a par score, in the ongoing T20I at Colombo.
After Virat Kohli asked the hosts to bat first, his decision looked wrong for a while with Sri Lankan openers adding 23 runs off just 13 balls before their blazing start was put to a halt courtesy of a pitch of a delivery from Bhuvneshwar Kumar’s brilliant inswinging delivery that shattered Upul Tharanga’s timbers. The wicket, however, did not derail Sri Lanka’s aggressive start at least for the time being as they raced away to 60 for two by the end of the powerplay.
Yuzvendra Chahal then dismissed Angelo Mathews to bring India back into the game, but Dilshan Munaweera’s whirlwind fifty once again put the hosts in a commanding position. The right-handed batsman did not allow the Indian bowlers to settle down and continued Sri Lanka’s aggressive start by scoring 53 off just 28 balls before chinaman spinner Kuldeep Yadav castled him in the 12th over with the scoreboard reading a promising 99.
India then found its way back into the game with debutant Ashan Priyanjan struggling to get going and Chahal dismissing the dangerous Thisara Perera for just 11. Chahal then struck once again to remove Dasun Shanaka for a three-ball duck to leave the hosts reeling at 113 for 6. The hosts never recovered from those setbacks and were eventually restricted to a modest total.
Here is how Twitter reacted to the innings:
