Sri Lanka vs India 2017: Watch – Virat Kohli Gets out after Smashing 29th ODI Century

Team India captain Virat Kohli showed yet again that why he is the modern master of limited-overs cricket, as he smashed his way to a sensational century in just 75 balls in the 4th ODI against Sri Lanka at the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo.
It was stroke play at its very best from the India captain, as India got off to a sensational start after winning the toss and batting first. The visitors lost Shikhar Dhawan early but captain Kohli started taking on the Lankan bowlers from the word go and pierced the gaps on a consistent basis.
He overshadowed Rohit Sharma who was playing well too, but Kohli was far more superior in the partnership and made stroke making look ridiculously easy. He began his innings by smashing Vishwa Fernando for three consecutive fours through three different directions of the ground. It was already signs of what was about to come in the next few hours.
He made the listless Sri Lankan bowlers look even more clueless, as he toyed with the field placing and smashed boundaries at will. He backed his instincts and went on to complete his 29th ODI century in just 75 balls. His power hitting didn’t stop, as he went beyond his hundred and kept on smashing the Lankan bowlers to different parts of the park.
He was finally dismissed by Lasith Malinga in the 30th over, as he was holed out by Dilshan Munaweera in the extra cover region. Kohli wanted to chop it over the extra cover boundary, but it took the bottom of the blade and didn’t have the legs to go further than the fielder. It was also Malinga’s 300th ODI wicket – a feat not achieved by many fast bowlers in ODI cricket.
Meanwhile, the Men in Blue are in a commanding position, and after 35 overs their score is 262/3. Hardik Pandya was the last man gone while Rohit Sharma has also completed his 2nd successive ODI century.
