Batting first, West Indies team, which was trailing by a margin on 0-2 in the three-match Tests series, found its form in the last game and scored 590 runs on Wankhede track. Indian team too batted well but still trailed by 108 runs at the end of half of the game. Pragyan Ojha, in the third innings, rattled the Windies batting line up and scalped six wickets to pack the bags on a score of just 134. Indian team was asked to chase 243 runs in 64 overs which they could not do and match ended in a tie with both teams having the same total at the end of four innings. There was a hidden loss for the Indian team in this tie as West Indies players were enjoying and were quite happy at the end of the game.
