3. South Africa in India (2009)- 1884 runs

Another instance of India witnessing a high-scoring series, the three-match series between the hosts and Proteas in 2009 saw a total of 1884 runs being made. Apart from being a run-feast, the series will always be remembered for Sachin Tendulkar who became the first batsman to score a double-century in the ODIs. The series witnessed two instances of 300-plus totals- the first being in the second ODI at Gwalior when Sachin Tendulkar’s 200* propelled India to a mammoth 401 and the second one came in the last match when the visitors scored 365.
