Australian captain Michael Clarke on December 10th broke Ricky Ponting’s record of most number of centuries by a batsman at Adelaide.
During the first day of the first Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, Michael Clarke retired hurt on 60 due to his chronic back problem, but came out strongly on the second day of the match and scored his 28th hundred in overall and 7th hundred in Adelaide, surpassing Ricky Ponting’s record of 6 hundreds.
Clarke is also the 3rd highest run-getter in Adelaide. In his 10 Tests at Adelaide, he has scored 1407 runs at an average of 106.76 with the highest score of 230. The highest run-getter in Adelaide is the former Australian World Cup winning captain Ricky Ponting, with 1743 runs in 17 Tests at an average of 60.10.
