Chasing 219, Pakistan were in a spot of bother after being reduced to 107 for 4. Their situation worsened when they were reduced to 175 for 6. However, Anwar held firm from one end and despite losing his partners from one end, he ensured that Pakistan do not lose the match by playing an unbeaten knock of 103. The match ended in a tie.
