  1. Kapil Dev 175* vs Zimbabwe – 1983

Several renowned experts have gone on to term this as the greatest innings ever in limited overs cricket. This particular knock left everyone spellbound as Kapil Dev redefined what a batting masterclass from a captain truly meant. Had the Indians lost this game, their qualification for the semi-finals of the World Cup could have been under scrutiny, but Dev was determined to make history and ensure that the Indians made it all the way through.

India were reduced to 17-5 by Zimbabwe and back home, all Indians feared the worst. Dev, however, batted like a true champion as due to his heroics, India got to 266 in 60 overs. This came after the Indians were 78-7 at one stage. India went on to win the game by 31 runs as Dev even took a wicket. This ultimately stimulated the Indians to such an extent that history was created a few days later, as the World Cup was brought home in India.
