The India-Sri Lanka rivalry in One-Day Internationals has evolved to become one of the most celebrated rivalries in the history of the game.

At present, India has earned the bragging rights of this famous fixture, but in the past, the game was evenly poised with both the teams laden with some absolute legends of cricket.

With Sri Lankan cricket going through a transformation right now, they have not been able to put up a big challenge so far in the ongoing series against Virat Kohli & Co. and the likes of Shikhar Dhawan, Virat Kohli is making the most of it. After making light work of Sri Lanka’s inexperienced bowling in the Test series, the Indian batsmen began in the same manner, as the Men in Blue thrashed the hosts by nine wickets while chasing a modest 216.

Shikhar Dhawan, who had scored two centuries in the Test series, scored 132 not out while Kohli remained unbeaten on 82 and with still four matches to go, there are big chances that the duo or any other batsmen break the record of most runs by a player in an India-Sri Lanka series.

So here we are taking a look at the top 5 players in the list of highest run-scorers during a series:

5. Rahul Dravid – 312 runs (Sri Lanka tour of India 2005/06):

Dravid had scored the 313 runs at an astonishing average of 156 and was the second highest run-scorer in the series behind his successor Mahendra Singh Dhoni who is also present in this list.
