2. Mahendra Singh Dhoni- 346 runs (Sri Lanka tour of India 2005/06):

Dhoni had marked his arrival on the international stage with his blistering 148-run knock in only his 5th ODI against Pakistan in April 2005. Though he managed to prove his detractors wrong arrived at the highest stage of the game a few months later in 2005 when Sri Lanka visited India for a seven-match series.
He was promoted to number three in the third One-Dayer in Jaipur, and the wonder boy from Ranchi fully justified the decision by slamming a career-best 183 runs, as India chased down 298 with almost four overs remaining. Dhoni had gone on to finish the series as the highest run-scorer, slamming 346 runs in seven outings at an impressive average of over 115.
