1. Tillakaratne Dilshan- 353 (Sri Lanka tour of India 2009/10):

Arguably the most closely fought series between the two nations, Sri Lanka’s tour of India in 2009 began with the Island nation failing to chase down 414 by just three runs.
Riding on Virender Sehwag’s 146, India had posted a mammoth 414 but Sri Lanka, led by Dilshan’s majestic 160 and Kumar Sangakkara’s 43-ball 90, gave the hosts mighty scare before eventually losing the nail-biting thriller.
India had won the five-match series 3-1, but Dilshan had thoroughly dominated the series with his bat, as he was the only player to cross the 300-run mark while his teammate Sangakkara was second on the list with 295 runs.
The former opening batsman had scored 353 runs at an average of over 70 with the help of two centuries.
