- Sri Lanka – 270:
From the mid-1990’s to the early 2010’s, began a little love affair of Sri Lanka and ODI cricket. The side which was once a minnow, rose to the occasion and dominated other teams with utter disdain for a long span.
In so many ways was the emergence of Sri Lanka as an ODI powerhouse integral to the overall success of the format entering the 21st century. A major reason behind the side’s success stood in their classy yet destructive batting. The first half of Sri Lankan batting greats comprised mainly of Arjuna Ranatunga, Sanath Jayasuriya and Aravinda De Silva.
But it was the next crop, however, which took off Sri Lanka to the next level, as Kumar Sangakkara, Mahela Jayawardenabecauseand Tillakeratne Dilshan rewrote records. Standing third on the list with 270-century stands, Sri Lanka indeed has been a great ODI outfit.
