Sri Lanka- 6:
During the initial years of the format’s emergence, Sri Lanka had arguably one of the strongest line-ups featuring players like Lasith Malinga and Ajanta Mendis who were labelled specialists for this format. So, it isn’t surprising to see them on the list with six consecutive wins which they experienced during the 2009 World T20. As mentioned earlier, their team suited the format perfectly and the results were quite visible as they began their World Cup campaign on a dominant note by winning all of the Group E encounters and advancing to the semi-finals with ease, setting up a date with West Indies. The Windies did not prove to be a competition as they slumped to a one-sided loss in the semi-final. Unfortunately, their run came to end as they faltered when it mattered the most by losing in the finals against Pakistan.
