Australia – 6:
If there is one honour that is missing from Australia’s ICC trophy cabinet, then it is a World T20. Australia, for some strange reason, has never managed to win it. The 6 match winning streak speaks for their ability in the format and also ironically discusses the time when they were the closest to winning a World T20 tournament.
In the 2010 World T20 hosted by West Indies, they flew in as one of the top contenders. They displayed their intent by winning all the group matches and progressing to the semi-final with May 2, 2010, with 5 wins to their credit. They extended the streak by one more match with a stunning win 3 wickets over Pakistan to meet their arch rivals England in the finals.
Unfortunately, they failed at the last step and lost the match which not only ended their winning streak but took away the chance of becoming the champions in this format
