Pakistan’s wonderful run of 7 straight wins began in the 2009 World T20 with a win over Ireland in the last group game. Led by Younis Khan, followed it up by defeating South Africa in the semi-final and Sri Lanka in the title clash to end up winning their first major ICC tournament since the historic 1992 win.
Furthermore, Sri Lanka ended up losing twice again in the home series which extended Pakistan’s streak. The Men in Green completed later another clean sweep as they blanked New Zealand in the 2-match series hosted in Dubai, taking the tally to 7, their best run of form so far in this format.
