The combination of unorthodox batsmen and high-quality bowlers has ensured that they quickly established themselves as one of the strongest team in this format as well. The superior 7 match streak commenced with a clean sweep over Australia in the 2-match series at home. They registered wins at Johannesburg and Centurion on 27th and 29th March 2009 respectively before entering the 2009 World T20 in form and mowing down oppositions like New Zealand, England, and India. Their dominance was brought to an end by Pakistan in the first semi-final.
