3. 376 – VVS Laxman and Rahul Dravid:

Arguably the best partnership in India’s Test history. After losing the first Test of the three-match series, India were staring down the barrel in the second match too when they were asked to follow on after scoring only 171 in reply to Australia’s 445. They were reeling at 232 for 4, still, 42 runs behind Australia’s total. But then Rahul Dravid joined Laxman in the middle and the rest as they is history. Both added a mammoth 376 runs for the fifth wicket and took India to a strong position in the match. Laxman scored 281 while Dravid scored 180. India finally declared their innings for 657 for 7, setting Australia a target of 384 runs. Down on confidence, Australia failed to put up a good fight and lost the match by 171 runs.
