A wicket keeper is a player o the cricket field who stands behind the stumps, wearing big gloves and pads and has the primary responsibility to collect the ball which are missed by batsman.
A wicket keeper is most probably the only person on the field apart from the umpires who have to invest a hell lot of concentration and has to watch the cricket ball all the time.
A wicket keeper also has to constantly keep an eye on the fielding formation as he has the best view from the batsman’s stance because he remains closest to him. He can accordingly adjust the field and advice the bowler as well as the batsmen.
Apart from all the above duties, a keeper also has to bat and score runs for his team when required.
If a wicket keeper has to be defined in a few words, then words like talent, sharpness, flexibility, agility and quick presence of mind would be quite appropriate!
