Steven Smith has made a grand comeback to cricket in Australia for the first time since the ball tampering incident broke out with a 92-ball 85 runs knock.
Meanwhile, the former Australian captain was playing for Sutherland against Mosman in a Sydney grade one-day game. Since getting a life early on, Steven Smith put on a patient knock before getting out a leading edge.
A strong opening partnership between Sharks captain Chris Williams and Jarryd Biviano kept the eager crowd waiting before Dean Crawford dismissed Biviano (37) with an incredible caught and bowled. Batting at No.3, Steven Smith was into the action early.

He got off the mark with his first ball, clipping it off his hip for two. Sutherland’s big day could have been over quickly, with Scott Rodgie dropping Smith from a tough caught and bowled chance.
When Smith reached 17, it took him to 5000 runs in all grades for the club. He became the fastest to reach 5000 runs in his 126th innings, surpassing the previous record of 139 innings by Phil Jaques.
Elsewhere, former Australian vice-captain David Warner, who also got a year-long ban for his involvement in the incident, has taken a smart catch for Randwick-Petersham in another Sydney grade game and will bat later on Saturday.
