ToggleStuart Binny’s career with the Team India lasted for six Tests, 14 ODIs and three T20Is. Although he had a short stint with the national team, he played some memorable knocks. The allrounder recalls his Test debut series against England in 2014 where he got the backing of the then captain MS Dhoni which helped him to do wonders.
In the first Test match of the five-match Test series, Binny scored 78 runs in the second innings, helping India to draw the match. However, he could not score a hundred but he is delighted with his efforts.
Stuart Binny recall Test debut memory with MS Dhoni

Stuart Binny, in the first innings of the Test debut match, was out after scoring just one run. He could not sleep after that night. But his motivation level increased after MS Dhoni showed his belief on the debutant.
“A special day in my life, to receive my Test cap #281 from Mahi bhai. We were under the pump on the last day. I had scored 1 in the first innings I had a sleepless night before I walked in to bat,” said Stuart Binny in an interview with Sportskeeda.
I could not believe MS Dhoni said this to me: Binny

MS Dhoni asked Stuart Binny to bat for 4.5 hours to save the Test match for India. The Karnataka player could not believe that even though he could not score runs in first innings, the captain asked him to take the responsible job. Subsequently, he fulfilled his captain’s wish as the match ended in a draw.
“And Mahi bhai told me, ‘Listen, we need you to bat 4.5 hours to save the Test match’. And I looked at him like I can’t believe he said something like that to me,” he continued.
In his ODI debut match against Bangladesh in 2014, Binny secured six wickets conceding only four runs surpassing Anil Kumble to have the best bowling record for any Indian bowler. Overall, he scored 459 runs and picked 24 wickets.
