On day two, Jasprit Bumrah and Prithvi Shaw dropped sitters in the ongoing pink-ball Test match against Australia. Moreover, both the dropped catches were of lucky Marnus Labuschagne. Former Indian captain Sunil Gavaskar didn’t mince his words and trolled his countrymen for the poor fielding display.
Marnus Labuschagne was first dropped at 12 runs when Jasprit Bumrah near the rope misjudged the ball and jumped only to drop the catch. To make the matter worse, the ball went for four. And this occurred on the last ball of Mohammad Shami’s over.
After a couple of overs, Prithvi Shaw, who was standing at square leg, dropped another dolly from Labuschagne’s bat. The batsman couldn’t control the pull and gets the top edge which carried to square leg. Shaw only had to move back a few spaces but he could not control his steps and fumbles trying to catch above the head.
Sunil Gavaskar takes a hilarious dig at India

Sunil Gavaskar, who was in the commentary box at that time, joked and said that India is giving Christmas gifts to Australians even before the occasion.
“All I can think of is the Indians are in a Christmas mood. Giving their Christmas gifts a week early,” Sunil Gavaskar said.
Ashwin, Bumrah put India in command

Although Labuschagne was gifted two alive chances, India had the command of the game thanks to Ravichandran Ashwin and Jasprit Bumrah. The spinner claimed the massive wicket of Steve Smith (1) before adding the scalps of Travis Head (7) and debutant Cameron Green (11) to his tally. Before Ashwin’s triple strike, Bumrah had dismissed both the Australian openers, Matthew Wade and Joe Burns.
