Uttar Pradesh batsman Suresh Raina has been appointed as Central Zone skipper in the inter-zonal Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy while Madhya Pradesh wicketkeeper-batsman Naman Ojha has been appointed as his deputy. Raina recently made a comeback to the national team as he was named in the Indian T20I squad for the series against England.
The team includes international stars like Ambati Rayudu and Karn Sharma as well. Railways batsman Mahesh Rawat has been selected as the second wicket-keeper in the team.
Ankit Rajpoot, who has been one of the most impressive bowlers in domestic cricket, has also been named in the team while Aniket Choudhary, who was called for a net session before the Test against Bangladesh, has also been called up.
Former U-19 players Mahipal Lomror, Amandeep Khare and Akshdeep Nath also find their name on the list.
Akshay Wakhare, Puneet Datey, Sumit Ruikar, Jitesh Sharma, Sarfaraz Khan, Divya Pratap Singh Hada have been named stand-bys for the tournament.
Harvinder Singh Sodhi, former MP player, has been named as the coach of the team.
