Suryakumar Yadav has earned up the call in India A after seven years for the upcoming New Zealand tour. The player is delighted to get the chance in the India A squad but wants to focus on the present game. Currently, Yadav is busy playing in the Ranji Trophy matches.

The Mumbai player has scored 4920 runs in 73 first-class matches and 2311 runs in 88 List A games. There have been talks among cricket pundits to give him a chance in India’s senior team. However, the 29-year-old hasn’t earned up the place till now.

This year has been amazing for Suryakumar Yadav in domestic cricket. He was the third-highest run-scorer in the Syed Mushtaq Ali trophy 2019-20. In 11 matches played for Mumbai in the T20 domestic tournament, he scored 392 runs at an average of 56.00 with the strike rate of 168.96.

Recently, he scored a century in the Ranji Trophy match against Baroda. On the eve of the match against Railways, Yadav opined that he is happy that he has got the chance in India A and want to focus what presently is in his hand.

“The New Zealand series is in my mind but keeping that aside, currently, my full focus is on this (Ranji) game, which is more important,” Yadav said.

Further, he added that its hard to live in a present as you always dream to play for India one day. But Suryakumar Yadav hasn’t left any hope and believes that small chances can pave the way to bigger ones.

My Ultimate Goal Is To Play For India: Suryakumar Yadav On His Selection Over India A 1

“Yes, my ultimate goal is to play for India. However, at the same time, you’ve got to stay in the present. You’ve got to follow your process, you just can’t think of going there. If you do the small things right, which I’ve been doing lately, that (national team selection) will automatically come,” Yadav told reporters.

“It’s a little difficult because, at the back of my mind, I keep thinking that I’ve got to play for India. However, in the end, I have to stay in the present. If it (the national call) has to come, it will come automatically.”
