MS Dhoni- The Untold Story is one of the biggest hits of the year in Bollywood as it has raked up positive reviews and was equally appreciated by the critics and fans. The biopic has not only earned applauds but has also been a great commercial success as it has become the second biggest opener in Bollywood this year only next to Sultan.
However, the success meant lead actor Sushant Singh rajput who played the role of MS Dhoni in the biopic has now doubled his remuneration as he is looking for a whopping Rs 3.5- Rs 4 crore for a movie.
A Bollywood website quoted the CEO of a top production house saying, “That is the standard practice of any star. If you deliver a 200-Crore sizzler, you demand a higher price. But the problem here is Sushant thinks the film has become a hit because of him, not for MS Dhoni.”
The article has also said that Sushant has become arrogant with the success of the movie and it could be seen in the way he interacted with the reporters in the recent event. When the reporter has congratulated the star for the movie crossing 100 crore mark, Sushant said: “Double ho gayi hai mujhe lagta hai (It has crossed Rs 200 crore).”
In a recent interview, Sushant Singh Rajput has admitted all the positive feedback he got for his role in MS Dhoni- The Untold Story as he has reportedly quoted: “I have been getting positive feedback for my work since my first release, Kai Po Che (2013). Before the release, Neeraj (Pandey; director) and MS (Mahender Singh Dhoni) appreciated my performance. Since both of them don’t mince words.”
“I was confident that I have done a good job in the movie. The question was; how much the masses will connect with the film. But, thankfully the response to the film has been overwhelming. The credit for which also goes to MS’s popularity, and the content.”
