Sushant Singh Rajput, best known among cricket fans for his successful portrayal of reel life MS Dhoni in the cricketer’s biopic, has revealed one interesting incident involving Sachin Tendulkar.

Sushant states that once the Sachin Tendulkar casually visited the Maharashtra Cricket Association when he was practising with Kiran More. Tendulkar, after watching the high ranking More guiding him in a full intensity practice session, felt that Sushant was some upcoming cricketer.

He went to enquire about the same as the MCA only allowing state-level professionals to play.

More had to clarify that Sushant was an actor preparing to play MS Dhoni in a studio biopic which left Sachin speechless.

“Sachin didn’t say anything (in reply) but that expression on his face was priceless, it said everything.”

Sushant Singh Rajput is still revered for his almost perfect role of MS Dhoni in the biopic. Apart from undergoing special training, Sushant grew an identical mane and had to practice the cricketer’s native accent which has an Orthodox usage of Hindi.

Eventually, he was able to pull off the required elements in the movie and was praised for the perfection he attained. Certain shots of him playing the helicopter shot were so accurate, it felt MS Dhoni made a real appearance in the movie.

The actor tells that he was always confident of a successful work in the movie.

Speaking on his role, the actor commented,

“All the good takes I give are those where I don’t know what I did. The moment I am talking about something that is very close to me or gives me excitement, I am fidgety, I get restless. Then, I don’t know what I am doing. But at the same time, if you ask me, am I confident? Of course, I am, I can pull off a Dhoni.”

The movie was blockbuster and is currently the highest earning title in the sports genre beating the previous hits like Bhaag Milkha Bhaag, Mary Kom, Sultan and even Kai Po Che! – a movie in which Sushant played a lead role himself.

The biopic also saw the closeness between MS Dhoni and Sushant grow and the two personalities are now good pals. The actor also actively follows the game and uses social media sites to back Team India.
