Today was the 8th match of the Big Bash League 2014-15. We saw some great performances today. Riki Wessels and Aiden Blizzard scored half century respectively. Aiden Blizzard showed some great hitting but all his efforts went in vain and Sydney Sixers win. Here are the Hits and Flops of the match.

Hits of the Day

1. Riki Wessels

Riki Wessels played his part well. He scored a half century today. His 50 runs came out of 33 balls with a strike rate of 151.5 and hit 5 boundaries and 2 sixes. His runs really gave a push to the Sydney Sixers.

2. Gurinder Sandhu

Gurinder Sandhu was not one of the most economic bowlers today. But he managed to sneak up 2 wickets and in his 4 overs spell and gave 28 runs with an economy rate of 7.

3. Aiden Blizzard

Aiden Blizzard did his best for his team. But he was unable to get that victory. He did whatever he could but the target was too high. He scored 80 runs from 42 balls with an amazing strike rate of 190.5. He hit 6 boundaries and 4 sixes.

4. Sean Abbott

Sean Abbott was indeed the best bowler today. He had one of the lowest economy and managed to pick up 2 wickets. His early wickets was a big blow for the Sydney Thunder. He gave away 28 runs in his 4 overs spell with an economy rate of 7.

Flops of the Day                    

1. Nic Maddinson

Nic Maddinson started the game very well but couldn’t elongate it. His moment on the crease was short as he departed for only 12 runs only. But in his short period, he only managed to hit a six.

2. Jacques Kallis

Jacques Kallis, the all-rounder, was not good with his batting and bowling today. In both, he showed poor performance. In bowling, he gave away 38 runs in his 4 overs spell with an economy rate of 9.5 and no wicket. In the batting he scored only 3 runs.

3. Michael Hussey

The skipper, Michael Hussey, was unable to carry his team towards a victory. He didn’t show some magic and was able to score only 17 runs. He was bowled by Brett Lee in the 6th over.

4. Doug Bollinger

Doug Bollinger too was disappointing. He scored only 14 runs today. He showed some terrible bowling performances today. He picked up no wickets but gave away lots of runs. He gave away 45 runs with an economy of 11.2.
