Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy Round Up: Gambhir-Dhawan Fail Against Punjab, Chama Milind Shines For Hyderabad 1
North Zone
The star-studded Delhi team failed to keep winning streak going as the team representing the nation’s capital lost to Punjab by a close margin. Being asked to bat first, Delhi could just put on a score of 103 runs on the board, with Milind Kumar emerging as the highest run scorer for the team by virtue of scoring 26 runs. Delhi openers Shikhar Dhawan and Gautam Gambhir failed miserably as Gambhir scored just five runs whereas Dhawan went back to the pavilion with a score of two.
Delhi bowlers held their nerve till the last over of the game and Punjab could only win the game in the final over, with just with two wickets in hands. It was a close encounter in which Punjab sneaked to a win, by the skin of their teeth.

It was not a great day for Tamil Nadu at their home ground as chasing a big target of 166 against Hyderabad, the team fell short by a big margin of 72 runs in front of the fast bowling of Chama Milind, who scalped four wickets at cost of just 18 runs, to dismantle the Tamil Nadu’s batting line-up.
Tamil Nadu lost quick wickets at the regular intervals right from the start and never in looked, in contrast, to chase down this total. They were bundled out on a total of 93, to hand Hyderabad an easy win at the end.

West Zone
Mumbai team chased down a total of 132 runs against Gujarat to continue their winning streak in the tournament. Bowling first, Mumbai stopped Gujarat on a total of 131 which they then chased down with 10 balls ring in the bag.
Shreyas Iyer, who failed in the last game was the star for Mumbai as he played an innings of 79* to seal the game for Mumbai. With this, Mumbai registered their second consecutive win the tournament and bolstered their chances of topping the points table.
