It seems like stars are aligned in line for Chris Morris in recent times. Initially, he bagged the slot for the upcoming ICC World Cup 2019 and now, he signed a contract for Hampshire in the upcoming T20 Vitality Blast. He will join the team after the conclusion of the ICC event.

Recently, the right-handed all-rounder Chris Morris called into South Africa’s World Cup squad as a replacement for fast bowler Anrich Nortje, who was ruled out of the tournament because of a fractured thumb.

Now, Chris Morris becomes the first overseas player to be part of the Hampshire in this season. He will be available for the team throughout the season following his national duty in the ICC World Cup 2019.

I can’t wait to get there – Chris Morris

Speaking of the signing, Chris Morris quoted that he is pretty excited to be part of the tournament. He wants to bowl on those English tracks, which would be brilliant for a fast bowler. Morris quoted that he can’t wait to land at the Ageas Bowl.

“I’m really looking forward to joining Hampshire for the Vitality Blast. It’s an exciting tournament and it’s an exciting summer coming up, I can’t wait to get there and play at the Ageas Bowl and express what I can do,” Chris Morris said.

Morris is a great fit for us – Hampshire

Speaking of the addition, the club official Giles White quoted that the addition of Morris is a brilliant choice from the officials. He believes that the South African brings a lot to the table with his ability to bat and ball at crucial junctures of the game.

“We were delighted when Chris agreed early on to join us for the season. He’s a dynamic batsman in the middle-order. And also, a handful with the ball both up front and at the death. So, he’s a great fit for us and hopefully he’ll make a big difference this summer,” said White.

Well, it would be interesting to see how Chris Morris would come up for Hampshire. Currently, he is plying his trade for Delhi Capitals in the Indian Premier League 2019.

Over the years, he has been brilliant for Morris but unfortunately, failed to repeat the show in this year edition. Despite that, his side reached the Qualifier-2, which is the penultimate step to lift the glorious trophy.
