Tamim Iqbal To Lead Bangladesh In Absence Of Injured-Mashrafe Mortaza
The injury vows continue to hurt the Bangladesh National Cricket Team in their progress. The latest to pick up an injury is the skipper Masharfe Mortaza, which will see him miss the upcoming limited-over series against Sri Lanka, which will be the first bilateral series after a horrible attack in Sri Lanka. Meanwhile, Tamim Iqbal named as the skipper of the team.
Alongside Mashrafe Mortaza, the other crucial player to miss the series for Bangladesh is their all-rounder Mohammad Saifuddin. He has been their best fast bowler in the ranks but unfortunately, picked up a back injury.
Chief selector Minhajul Abedin said that they will pick two players from the trio of Farhad Reza, Taskin Ahmed and Abu Jayed as replacements for Mortaza and Saifuddin. Abu Jayed would be one of the two, as he delivered goods in the recent past.

The board further revealed that the players would be away from the sports for at least 1 month for the recovery. The board is hopeful that the duo will return to the game as quickly as possible.
“Mashrafe is unfortunately out of the tour after he hurt his hamstring again during training today. Saifuddin’s back injury has come back so he is also out. We are looking at Farhad, Taskin and [Jayed] Rahi to replace these two players,” added the chief selector.
“It is a recurrent injury that could take around three to four weeks to recover from. Therefore, he is ruled out from participation in sporting activity for a month,” said the Bangladesh Cricket Board’s (BCB) senior physician Dr Debashis Chowdhury.
