Tapsee Pannu To Play Mithali Raj Role In Her Biopic

If the reports are believed, the actress Tapsee Pannu set to play the role of Mithali Raj in the upcoming Biopic. The report further said that while Taapsee and the filmmakers have agreed to do the film verbally, she is yet to sign the dotted line
After being highly praised for her performance in ”Game Over”, the actor might be gearing up for a sports biopic. Previously, Taapsee has essayed the role of a hockey player in Shaad Ali’s Soorma, based on the life of Sandeep Singh, India’s former captain.

As revealed by Mumbai Mirror, Taapsee has given her nod to the film. However, the official formalities are yet to be completed. Taapsee has already played the character of a hockey player in Soorma. It featured Diljit Dosanjh in the role of former Indian hockey player Sandeep Singh. Now, with Mithali Raj’s biopic, Taapsee has got two sports biopic in her kitty.
The source said, “The formalities will be done once the studio has a director on board. They have also locked the story but the script is still being developed.”
Currently, Taapsee is awaiting the release of Saand Ki Aankh. Based on octogenarian sharpshooters, Chandra Tomar and her sister-in-law Prakshi Tomar from Uttar Pradesh, Saand Ki Aankh tells the story of two women who learnt shooting at the age of 60. The film is set to hit the screens on October 25.
However, Biopics are not a new thing in the recent past. There have already been movies released on Mahendra Singh Dhoni and Sachin Tendulkar. The star actor Ranveer Singh also making a movie on India’s first-ever World Cup win in 1983.
Born in Jodhpur, Mithali is regarded as one of the greatest batswomen the game has produced. She is the highest run-scorer in international women’s cricket and the only female cricketer to surpass the 6,000-run mark in WODIs.
