In the latest development of India tour of Australia, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has, reportedly, booked a charter flight for Team India to travel to Australia in November.
Team India will enter Australia via Sydney where they will follow mandatory quarantine while will be allowed to practice. Initially, the Men in Blue were supposed to land in Brisbane, but their government declined any relaxation in the quarantine period.
After the completion of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020, India is expected to fly either on the 11th or 12th of the next month. All the selected 32 cricketers and other supporting staff will travel together from Dubai. Reportedly, Indian head coach Ravi Shastri and other coaching staff have been instructed to land UAE before the end of October.
Team India tour of Australia: limited-over series will be followed by Test cricket
According to reports, India and Australia will first play series in limited-over legs followed by much-anticipated four-match Test series. The three-match ODI series is scheduled to start on November 27 at Sydney Cricket ground while the final match will be played in Canberra. Following the ODI series, the two teams will play the three-match T20I series.
Border-Gavaskar Trophy will begin with a day-night Test match in Adelaide and will be played from December 17 to 21. Notably, it will be the first time Team India will play the pink-ball Test in Australia. The venue for the Boxing Day Test match is still be finalised because the traditional venue MCG, in Melbourne is witnessing the highest number of COVID-19 cases in Australia.
Cricket Australia will make the final announcement of the schedule after BCCI gives its final consent.
Meanwhile, the Indian board is making arrangements for the tours.
