The members of Indian cricket team opted for a rest on Friday and cancelled the practice session, as per a report in NBT. The members of the side were keen to rest to prepare for the next ODI ahead.

Team India’s practice session will now take place on Saturday at 12 PM. before that; New Zealand players will also undergo a practice session at 9 AM in the morning as they also did not practice on Friday.

Meanwhile, the security around the pitch to be used for the game has been beefed up after what happened before the previous ODI. The pitch curator and groundsmen have been barred from speaking to anyone regarding the pitch, and outside persons are also not allowed to enter the stadium.

Earlier, it was Lucknow who was to host the third ODI of the series but later, the game was shifted to Kanpur. The match will be played at Green Park on October 29. Green Park was the stadium which hosted the first Test of the long home season last year. It had made its Test debut way back in 1952. It will be after a period of two years when the stadium will host an ODI.

At present, both India and New Zealand have won a game each. New Zealand won the first game of the series when they chased down a total of 281 in the first ODI at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. Visitors rode on a century from Tom Latham and an innings of 95 from Ross Taylor to win the game.

In the second ODI, India made a comeback and bowlers did well to restrict New Zealand on 230, which the home side chased down easily.

Team India would look to avoid defeat in the final ODI as it will mark the first series defeat for Virat Kohli as a full-time ODI captain.

After the ODI series, both the teams will participate in a three-match T20I series with the first game to be played at Feroz Shah Kotla stadium in New Delhi on November 1. The game will also mark an of international career of Ashish Nehra, who has announced his retirement from all forms of the game after the first T20I.
