Team Players Unhappy With Ravi Shastri? Bharat Arun Sheds Light On It
The world cup exit from the semifinal stages has made things look pretty poor for the Indian National Cricket Team. They are on the headlines for all the bad reasons ever since the tournament concluded for India. Meanwhile, the latest reports surfaced on the media reveals that players are unhappy with the head coach Ravi Shastri.
According to the report, many players are also not happy with the unilateral decisions made by captain Kohli and coach Ravi Shastri. One such decision was the selection of Vijay Shankar over Ambati Rayudu for the World Cup squad.
The report also claimed that the decisions and approach of Ravi Shastri and Virat Kohli are not unopposed as players are afraid of losing their spot in the team. It also suggests that the captain enjoys the support of Vinod Rai, chief of Supreme Court-backed CoA.
The report states that only those part of ‘Virat Company’ or those who are performing consistently, like Rohit and Jasprit Bumrah, will get a chance of playing in the team. Quoting a member of the Indian team, the report further mentions that there is a strong bias towards KL Rahul, who is backed by the team management even when he is not performing.
We have our arguments – Bharat Arun
Speaking of the same, Bharat Arun quoted that the difference in opinions is common in the team. However, he added that every individual’s decision is respected at the end of the day and gets the final decision, which is best for the team.
“It’s not that we agree on everything. We have our arguments. And also, discussions on various aspects like the composition of the team and the strategy. Everyone voices his opinion. But at the end of the day, the other person’s view is respected. In the end, a collective decision is taken,” Bharat Arun told Sportstar.
Well, it would be interesting to see how things would pan out in the next few days. Ravi Shastri is currently working on the extension basis. And also, he doesn’t need to give a formal application for the head coach role.
