Teams Bowling Out Oppositions for Most Consecutive Times in ODIs
The Indian team has shown sheer consistency with respect to their bowling in this ongoing World Cup. They have bowled out their opposition in each of their six matches which is simply stunning. Also, such an instance is made for the first time in World Cup tournament and it is a record.
In this article, we are to look over instances of the maximum streaks where the opposition has been bowled out by a team –
1. Australia, 10 times –
The Australian team bowled out their opposition for 10 consecutive times from 2nd November, 2009 to 9th February, 2010. Australia was under the leadership of Ricky Ponting then and he managed his side decently well. Also there were brilliant bowlers in the likes of Brett Lee, Mitchell Johnson and others.
2. South Africa, 10 times –
South Africa maintained this streak for 10 consecutive times from 27th November, 2013 to 21st August, 2014. The South African bowling has been of immense strength under the likes of World’s best bowlers like Dale Steyn and Morne Morkel. They managed to perform quite consistently.
3. Pakistan, 9 times –
Pakistan was once a brilliant bowling line up. They did this from 1st November, 1996 to 6th December, 1996. Also, they repeated it back in 1999-2000. Pakistan possessed some of the brilliant bowlers back then in the likes of Wasim Akram, Waquar Younis, Saqlain Mushtaq and Shoaib Akhtar.
4. New Zealand, 7 times –
This is among the most recent one. They did it from 31st January, 2015 to 8th March, 2015. They started this streak against Pakistan. They did bowl out their opposition in their first five games of this World Cup after which a gutsy performance from Bangladesh ended their streak. Also, their bowlers in the likes of Trent Boult and Tim Southee have been the best pace pair in this World Cup. They have taken nearly 30 wickets in this World Cup jointly.
5. India, 6* times –
The Men in Blue has performed incredibly well in this World Cup so far. They are still the unbeaten team in the World Cup so far and they won each of their 6 group stage matches. In fact, they did manage to bowl out each of their opposition which included Pakistan, South Africa, UAE, West Indies, Ireland and Zimbabwe. It is to be seen whether they are able to continue this run in the knock out phases of the tournament.
