Sri-Lanka registered its last whitewash win in 2016 in Sri-Lanka against Australia with a 3-0 scoreline. Left-arm off-spinner Rangana Herath took 28 wickets in that series and was adjudged man of the series. Sri Lanka’s victory in the first test of that series was its first win against Australia in 17 years.

Sri-Lankan spinners bowled with tremendous consistency, and the batsmen batted with a resolute and firm approach. Sri-Lanka won against West Indies, Bangladesh and Zimbabwe all with a 3-0 scoreline.

West-Indies completed their first whitewash win in 1985-86 against England with a 5-0 scoreline when Vivian Richards was the skipper. West-Indian fast bowlers gave an exhibition of some quality swing bowling. West-Indies completed their most accomplished whitewash against India in 1961-62 with a 5-0 win. Rohan Kanhai and the legendary Sir Garfield Sobers topped the batting charts in that series with 495 424 runs respectively.

The West-Indian bowlers bowled with efficiency and accuracy while batsmen led by the determined showed discipline and rigidity during pressure situations.
