ToggleOn last Saturday (31st October) night, Devdutt Padikkal created history in Indian cricket as he became the fastest Indian to complete 1000 T20 runs after breaking the previous record of legendary cricketer Sachin Tendulkar.
Serving for Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), the 20-year-old talented batsman Devdutt Padikkal reached that feat by creating a new record during the 52nd match of the IPL 2020 against SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) at Sharjah.
While SRH captain David Warner sent them for bat first, RCB managed to score only 120/7 (20 overs). Later, SRH chased down the target comfortably in 14.1 overs after losing five wickets.
During the first innings of that match, the young in-form RCB opener Padikkal managed to score only 5 runs but it was enough to complete his 1000 T20 runs as he has scored 1002 runs in T20 career after that innings. Padikkal completed his 1000 T20 runs in just 25 T20 innings and became the fourth fastest batsman to complete 1000 T20 runs. In the record of fastest to 1000 T20 runs, he is only behind of Australian cricketers Brad Hodge, Shaun Marsh and Matthew Hayden.
