Tendulkar, Ganguly to get involved in cleaning IPL campaign
The Board of Control for Cricket in India is about to launch a campaign for the purpose of a clean image of Indian Premier League in March, as IPL season 6 has been tainted by the betting and match fixing which has involved many sportsperson including from Team owners to Cricketers to actors to businessmen.
There are a number of players like S Sreesanth who are accused in either betting or match fixing or both during the season six of IPL. This big reveal has blown off the iamge of IPL infront of the cricketing world.
That is why BCCI acts very drastic to make cricketing world believe about cleansed IPL. They are walking extra miles by involving the former cricketers like Sachin Tendulkar , Sourav Ganguly who are going to explain people how IPL has been corruption free always.
For this purpose BCCI is going to arrange the campaign in different languages.
“We will not only stick to Hindi or English. The campaign will be in different regional languages across India and top cricketers will be used for the campaign,” a BCCI official spokeperson said in the report. “We want stars of the specific regions speaking in their mother tongue on television about the highs of IPL.”
Tendulkar is requested to do the campaign in Marathi whereas Ganguly will explain about clean IPL in Bengali to convince his fans and followers.
Now it becomes more important to BCCI to convince the countrymen about the clean image of IPL as this year the tournament is going to shift on foreign soil. “As of now, the chances are that the tournament will be shifted to South Africa. If that’s the case, the Indians living there need to be assured about the authenticity of the product. Who better than the big names of Indian cricket doing that,” said the official.
It seems that BCCI is trying hard to erase the memories of IPL’s last season so that it can not affect the electrifying seventh edition of Indian Premier League.
