Test players who have done extreamly well in IPL 1

IPL is such a sport where batsmen who hit the ball hard are the most successful in world’s most cash-rich league. Batsmen like Chris Gayle, Keiron Pollard, Rohit Sharma, Brendon McCullum are the most successful but there are a few players who played equally good cricket in Test, ODI, and IPL.

Here are them

Rahul Dravid: He is known as the wall of India for his skills to defend chest level ball. He has astonishing records in Test cricket. Cricket fans never knew that Rahul can strike the white beautifully. In 2003 when New Zealand and Australia were touring India for a three nations series Dravid scored the fastest half-century of the history then. Dravid made his IPL debut for Royal Challengers Bangalore and later played for now banned Rajasthan Royals. Dravid has played 89 matches altogether and scored 2174, His highest score was unbeaten 75.

Virender Sehwag: Former Indian Test and ODI player was an outstanding opener. He has an astonishing average in Test cricket. He was more successful in Test cricket than ODI.  But when he made his IPL debut he almost lost his charm but he played some swashbuckling innings for Delhi Daredevils and later bought by Kings XI Punjab. He hit a hundred against Chennai in the 2014 IPL semifinal.  Sehwag scored 2728 runs from 104 matches. He scored two hundred.

Sachin Tendulkar: The master blaster of batting  has played  78 matches and scored 2334 runs. Sachin was an outstanding batsman in Test and ODI. Sachin Tendulkar has taken retirement from international cricket in 2012. In five season Sachin Tendulkar hit two hundred with a strike rate of 119.81.

Anil Kumble: The legendary India spinner has played Royal Challengers Bangalore. The leg-spinner played three seasons and taken 45 wickets and 42 matches. He also led the Bangalore franchise.

Matthew Hayden: The Australian opener was a part Chennai Super Kings’ successful contingent. The southpaw played 32 matches in three seasons and scored 1107 runs. He used to give CSK a good start often. He has  scored eight half-centuries for CSK. He has retired from IPL in 2010.

AB de Villiers:  The South African captain who started his IPL career from Delhi now plays for Royal Challengers Bengaluru. He has played 104 matches  in IPL and scored 2570 runs. He scored two hundred and 15 half centuries.

Virat Kohli: The Indian Test captain has stamped his authority in all format of the game since 2011.  He is a technically equipped batsman and doesn’t try to play outrageous shots. In the recently concluded WT20, he played all copy book stroke to help India to qualify for the semifinal. He loves chasing the total and scoring with lovely stroke. In IPL, his form has been terrific. He has scored 3137 runs in 13 matches. His highest score is 99. Currently, he is the captain of Royal Challengers Bangalore.
