Former India batsman Sanjay Manjrekar has posted a special message for Cheteshwar Pujara on the occasion of the latter playing his 100th Test. The ongoing Test between India and Australia at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi is a milestone game for the right-handed batsman.

As soon as he stepped on the field for the ongoing Test on Friday (February 17), Cheteshwar Pujara joined a special club of cricketers who have represented India in 100 or more Tests. He became only the 13th Indian cricketer to achieve the incredible feat.

Sanjay Manjrekar congratulates Cheteshwar Pujara:

Cheteshwar Pujara made his Test debut against Australia in Bengaluru 2010. And it did not take him long to become an indispensable part of the Test team. He has been one of India’s most important batsmen in Tests for more than a decade now.

And as the star batsman reached the 100th Test milestone, Sanjay Manjrekar took to Twitter to post a heartfelt message for him. The former cricketer-turned-commentator talked about Cheteshwar Pujara’s batting technique and explained the reason behind his success as he wrote:

“Pujara’s batting success has a lot to do with his nature. Ever smiling,holds no grudges,never bitter,never blamed anyone when he was down. A MONK WHO BATS. That’s what he is. Congratulations on your 100th Cheteshwar! ??????”

Talking about Cheteshwar Pujara’s career so far, he has scored 7,021 runs with the help of 19 centuries and 34 fifties in 99 Tests so far. The 35-year old averages 44.15 in Tests and has a high score of 206*.

Meanwhile, Australia are in a precarious situation once again in the ongoing second Test in Delhi. At the time of writing this report, the visitors were reeling at 168 for 5.
