Australia, on Tuesday (June 20), registered a stunning victory over England in the first Ashes Test at Edgbaston, Birmingham. While the visitors remained on the backfoot for most part of the game, they came out on top when it mattered the most.

The Aussies did not fail to show why they are the number 1 ranked team in the world and are the reigning world champions as they registered a thrilling 2-wicket win over the arch-rivals. Chasing 281, Australia were reeling at 227 for 8 at one stage before captain Pat Cummins and Nathan Lyon stitched together a memorable partnership of 55 runs to power their team to one of the best wins in the history of Test cricket.

Australia celebrate in infamous pub:

Following the famous win at Edgbaston, few Australia players along with fans traveled to a Birmingham pub to celebrate the win. The post-game celebrations took place at Walkabout, an Australian-themed pub infamous for David Warner’s punch on Joe Root in 2013.

Surprisingly, Warner and several other fathers in the Aussie line-up chose to stay away from the bar, according to CODE Sports. Nathan Lyon was pictured at the bar as he along with his teammates and fans celebrated the thrilling win.

Funnily enough, it was the Barmy Army’s chosen pub for the first Test. The rowdy English supporter’s group took to Twitter to share the snap of Lyon with two bottles of Peroni and a glass of another beverage all in his left hand accompanied by a hilarious caption.

“This is all out war now,” the Barmy Army wrote. The Aussies celebrated yesterday’s win in our HQ for the week. Apologies @WalkaboutBrum, we’ll make sure it’s full for the 2nd Test.”

Meanwhile, the second Ashes Test is scheduled to be played at the Lord’s from June 28.
