Toggle2) MOHAMMAD KAIF
Sometimes remarked as the ‘Jonty Rhodes of Indian Cricket’, Mohammad Kaif made his debut against South Africans in tests while he was only 20. He had captained the U-19 team wins the ICC Youth World Cup 2000 but failed to perform in the national squad and was subsequently dropped.
He was again given a chance during 2001-2002 but his historic knock came in the 2002 Natwest series where he scored 87 not out helping India chase down 326 and lift the trophy. He also showed his potential by scoring a brilliant century in the following ICC Champions trophy against Zimbabwe which was his individual highest. But more of his talents that made his appearances in the Indian Team prominent were those in fielding. But those talents were not enough to ensure his place in the team and he was dropped by 2006.
He had been picked up in the IPL for Rajasthan Royals, Kings XI Punjab, and Royal Challengers Bangalore and he played few matches. Kaif now played for Andhra till 2014 and joined politics for Indian National Congress and contested in the Loksabha elections.
